From Baltimore, a daytrip may be had e.g. by visiting Dunmanus Bay,
The Sheep's Head Peninsula (with superb moorland crest and rugged cliffs),
Bantry Bay (a spot of legendary beauty with at the head of the bay the busy market town and fishing port Bantry),
or a little further, over the Caha Mountains into County Kerry
and the pretty town of Kenmare with its inviting shops and restaurants.

Further west there is the fabulous Ring of Kerry drive around the lakes of Killarney and the mountains
of Magillycuddy's Reeks, the highest of which - Carrantuohill - can be seen for miles on a clear day.
An hours drive to the north east of Baltimore is the little coastal town of Kinsale
with over a dozen restaurants, famous as the home of Ireland's Gourmet Festival.
